Changing in urban climate within city due to UHI

Ahmedabad is among the fastest growing cities of India in the twentieth century. Its growth over the years is not only seen in its economy and infrastructure but also in the lateral expansion of the city limits towards the surrounding rural areas. It is well evident that urbanization has led to the massive growth of the city of Ahmedabad making it the largest in Gujarat. In this study, we perform temporal assessment of remote sensing data, to see the rise in temperature of the city in terms of UHI. The study emphasizes on the assessment of land surface temperature (LST) derived from Landsat 8 imaginary and finding the LST intensity.
