A High Potential Mix Use Area

Under LAP for Parel Sewri, Mumbai, the existing developed site was studied and crtitically analysed. City’s policy framework was also analysed to understand how would the implementation take place on ground. Stakeholders were consulted who explained the impact of upcoming projects in detail. Parel Sewri proved to be an extremely interesting site which has gone through growth evolution through different administrative changes and large scale infrastructure projects. The area definitely needs a strong mechanism to redevelop and improve. A vision was formulated on how the area is envisioned and a set of objectives were worked out to achieve this vision. Road network, zoning and regulations were the main focus for solving the problems analysed before and comparison was done to understand what exactly needs a change.
