Transforming Parel Sewri

With growing urbanization there arises a need for better planning fundamentals and regulations. The guidelines for achieving sustainable development of a city needs to be designed at urban as well as local level. In large cities like Mumbai, this is especially important because the urban areas are very dynamic. Thus, a need arises for local area plans in megacities like Mumbai. In this study, a local area plan for Parel-Sewri is presented which is located in the heart of Mumbai city. The aim is to regenerate the area into a lively, dynamic and sustainable hub for people to live, taking into consideration the huge transformations happening in the area .
