MAKING A CASE FOR DONALD JUDD’S FIBONACCI SEQUENCE for GOOGLE OFFICE at Alembic Art District, Baroda.
"Space is like a Journey Each Experience Matters "The concept of flexible and multifunctional spaces stems from the requirement to strictly adhere to predetermined proportions and create non-hierarchical configurations without disrupting the actual predefined building. The Fibonacci sequence is the default here, and Judd's 'progressions' develop in accordance with mathematically based sequences. The Fibonacci sequence can be found in natural processes such as tree branching or plant leaf arrangement. Each number in the sequence is the sum of the two that came before it: 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, and so on. When translated into volume, the modular box forms grow rapidly. The similar pattern is followed by the interstices, but in the reverse direction. Each component works in harmony with the others as well as with the total. Even if a development can continue to grow indefinitely, its material form and physical constraints define, restrict, and bring it to a close, creating a sense of union and singularity. This results in working software modules that are connected along the diagonal axis. Although geometric rigidity is unyielding and has been extensively studied, it nonetheless has very strict constraints. Simpler forms are produced by abstract images created by complex thoughts. ` The interior uses the words "Crate, Stack, Progress" with clarity. Both a vertical and horizontal exploration of the relationship is done. An inclined axis that modifies the site's geometry and establishes a connection between interior and outdoor activities.
