Everyday humans use water and generate wastewater. This 'waste' water can be looked as ‘resource’ and reused in multiple ways. The projects aims to demonstrate natural ways of cleaning this waste water as well as further reusing the treated water. The selected site is located on the eastern bank of river Sabarmati which was once a rain fed river. The site lies on the flood plain of the river and is an outcome of land reclamation done as a part of the Sabarmati River front project. The site is will be designed as an awareness-oriented constructed wetland park - first of its kind in Ahmedabad - which will act as a pilot project to demonstrate the treatment of 2 MLD of waste water generated from a nearby sewage treatment plant (STP). The sewage outlet point of this STP lies within the site. The project will demonstrate the treatment of waste water through landscape interventions.  This water will also be used to create water focused landscape experience for the people in the hot and dry city of Ahmedabad. The treated water will then be reused for irrigating the site, while the access will also be given to a near by public park (Shubhash Park) for the purpose of irrigation.
