Transit lending itself to connect a multitude of activities, regions and people to each other makes it become a threshold - a threshold to the city through its neighborhood. Ground being the connector between the neighborhood and the city, the station was looked at as a threshold to the neighborhood of Amraiwadi through a new ground that was established with activities pouring, spaces growing and possibilities emerging in and out of each other. The station becoming an in-between to the inside of the neighborhood and the outside city would be a merger of various programs and spaces spilling over, becoming breathers to the neighborhood. The station hence evolved to be envisioned as a ground that would fold and turn to form various clusters of spaces birthing and housing various activities suspended from the structure of the platform. Bridges and staircases would simply connect these various spaces constantly transporting and engaging people in the happenings of the station. Volumes would rise and drop to simultaneously hold and release the people in and out of the station, bringing people in and out of the city. The concrete growing mass from the existing ground would be suspended through shear walls creating the impression of a floating new ground- the threshold to the Amraiwadi neighborhood.
