Standing frail at the corner of MG Road and A.D'Mello Road in the pristine precinct of Fort, Bombay - is what once was an icon in this city's commercial heart. But today, less important has become it's history, as to what it means to the people around. They have identified the junction with this ageing building for a century, having innumerable stories about it - while, making profound changes on and within - their conveniences overshadowing any sense of permanence. Why such a contradiction? Is it judicious to 'monument-alise' the mundane by holding on to every bit of the past?
