The course is focused on understanding of different materials and applications of the materials in actual design practices. The project involves the architectural form development and structural design of an amphitheatre roof using timber material. The site is located at Kanoria Amphitheatre, CEPT University, Ahmedabad. The structure has to be design for Dead loads, Live loads and Wind loads as per the latest IS Codes provisions. The shape of the roof provided is curved and hence the beam grid supporting the structure is also in a curved shape.
