Chandlodiya is a developing suburb located on the western side of the Sabarmati river in Ahmedabad. Its development in terms of housing and infrastructure is heavily driven by government schemes and policies. The extent of implementation of these policies marks a clear distinction in the type of built form in the eastern and western parts of Chandlodiya. The lack of Implementation of these policies has resulted in a stagnant development of the low-rise areas in a few parts. Even though planned through the TP scheme, the precinct lacks public open spaces and quality infrastructure. Whereas the low-rise areas show a promising picture of safer streets and socially connected neighborhoods. The study presents an analysis of various factors giving an overall picture of the developing Chandlodiya.
