The study analyses the western suburban areas of Ahmedabad, especially the Chandlodiya region, which is in process of envisioning its future development and its consequent effect on its residents. It was predominantly an agrarian land and the presence of industries led workers to migrate into this region and settle down. Work and better quality of life have attracted a lot of people to migrate from the congested city core to suburban areas. The study further explores how the difference between the rich and poor inadvertently manifests in the built environment and at policy making level as well.
