Ghatlodiya is located in the north-western part of Ahmedabad. The Ghatlodiya village was formed in the early 15th century. Then migration of people from other towns and villages increased the real estate market demand. S.G Highway and 132 feet ring road are two major roads in the vicinity of the area. These roads connect various parts of the city. Residential land is the predominant land use in Ghatlodiya. It has a population density of 409 persons per ha which means in this area, 20.4 sq.m of open space is available to each person is less. A combination of low FSI value, high population density and low per capita open space has led to the low land value. Hence, the desirability of this area is less than the upcoming growth centres.
