The study area is a 1-square-kilometer precinct in Ghatlodiya's western outskirts. With forthcoming projects and new infrastructural development, Ghatlodiya is flourishing. The main objective is to analyze the study area's spatial development and identify the leading variables to the area's rapid urbanization. The precinct is situated on the city's western periphery. One of the key factors in the precinct's existence is the fact that it is situated along the SG Highway. The SG highway also brought in increased FSI but the precinct being located on the western fringe the population density is very low. Due to the low population there were only low rise and ground structures in the precinct. The low population density also leads to underutilized FSI. But the scenario is now changing with the increasing urbanization and growth of the city.
