The portfolio briefs about the exercises performed as a part of the foundation studio "Understanding the city" under Faculty of Planning, CEPT University. The work is particularly focused on understanding the city of Ahmedabad through the lens of a 1 sq. km precinct, that is "Odhav". A detailed study of the precinct is done through primary surveys and secondary research. The planning aspects considered for analysis include basic understanding of the study area, streets, built form, land use, infrastructure, public realm, livelihoods, jobs, transportation, travel patterns and certain existing government policies.
