Thaltej has rural as well as urban characteristics as it was farmland that was developed over the period of 2 decades. Thaltej being a peri - urban development has a diverse land use development as it started developing in early 2000. Thaltej was an agrarian society which gained importance after the infrastructural development such as the SG highway which increased the connectivity. Presently Thaltej has dominating residential use and after the policy changes such as increase in FSI there were many commercial developments and high-rise structures developed along the edge of the roads.
