The spatial development of Soni ni Chali was a response to the industrial growth in Odhav which influenced migration from neighboring villages to settle near the factories. The spatial extents of the study area exist at the confluence of the residential and industrial estates - both of which have contradictory built-unbuilt characteristics. The portfolio attempts to understand the distinction between the two regions along the lines of street character, built-unbuilt relationship, density, and the public realm.
