Understanding the city studio included observation, analysis and mapping the city. It involved study of 1km x 1km precinct, initially on basis of the satellite imagery and then mapping on site with GIS generated maps. The entire studio was focused on analytical study and critical thinking related to urban planning. This studio improved self studying, self analyzing skills as well as was a good brief to urban planning fields including - Urban design, Urban transportation, Urban infrastructure, etc. 

Studying location of precinct & its transformation from predominantly residential to mixed use buildings along the BRTS Corridor.
Road network, transit stations & connectivity. Studying road hierarchy with land use along them.
Urban morphology with identification of fine and coarse grain fabric of the precinct.
Accessibility & walkability towards the public transport system.
Network connectivity with study of CNR (Connected Node Ratio) & LNR (Link Node Ratio)
Factors affecting property prices in precinct.
Public realm: Studying public park in precinct & its user analysis.
Edge condition & user behavior of studied public park.
Solid waste management & Storm water management.
Analysis of Housing, Job & Transport.
