Naroda is located on the outskirts of the GIDC Naroda industrial estate in North East Ahmedabad. The area is a predominantly residential area with row housing neighbourhoods developed around informal settlements in the gamtal. It is located 8km from the airport and is connected to major highways like the SP ring road and state highways. It is an important growth centre in the area that continues to influence development around it. The Portfolio will analyse Naroda in terms of its spatial development and its street network and aims at understanding the factors that contributed to its transformation as the residential hub that it is today. This study is done using onsite observations, research and primary surveys of the area through GIS mapping and study of satellite imagery.
