A city like Ahmedabad, which acts as a job magnet for many labours, induces a great need for residential spaces. Vijay Nagar, a rich residential precinct located along the western transit of Ahmedabad could be one of the best examples to study the planning pattern and policies implemented to sustain the same. The area mainly comprises informal settlements with a lack of free open and commercial spaces. Even with the implementation of higher FSI, the precinct seems flat.
