Pariniyojniyam

Pariniyojniyam meaning deployable, This studio provided us with an opportunity to understand and study deployable structures. Deployable structures is very essential in this growing world as they serve a very large purpose but requires less space to fill. Our studio began with understanding deployability from nature which has very facinating and inspiring examples. Next, we had to study a deloybale object from the household which will give us an idea of the joinery and the mechanism used actually. We performed a market study on various materials about their properties, cost, availability, and transportation. The next exercise was to study a actual deployable structure, about its joineries, material and usage. Conceptualisation and ideation were the first steps in the design process for the final project. We built our own deployable system from scratch, complete with functional joinery. Finally, we used STAAD Pro to analyse and construct our plan. In the end, the design is a culmination of architectural and structural knowledge of deployable systems that has been learned.
