A group of roughly 520 settlements, Ramdev Nagar is a ‘parasite’ settlement which has grown and evolved over a period of  time. Its’ essence lies in its people and their relationship with the built environment. The streets echo the livelihoods of the people- It forms the structural backbone of the organization of the slum. The project aims at ‘freeing up’ the highly dense urban fabric of the site by means of low rise social housing clusters which cater to the overall needs of the people without disrupting the existing spatial character of the site, in an economical manner. Units and clusters have been designed to cater to the incremental or parasitic behavior of the society in such a way that the dwelling grows with the people.
