Situated in the centre of an urban fabric with major landmarks around, the informal settlement of Ramdev nagar still remains isolated. Fear of losing their culture and not willing to accept people outside their community is one of the main reasons for this isolation. This is restricting the settlement to expand their relations outside the community and reducing their opportunities for economic growth. The streets with direct connection to the main roads have the potential to become marketplaces to generate income. To take care of this, day care centres/Anganwadis can be introduced. Similarly, a skill development centre can be introduced to help the women to earn secondary income.
