Mumbai, as we know today as “the city of dreams” has not just managed to fulfill some privileged ones but continues to create newer ones for the people who have become such an essential part of the city. What we decode of the city is how these groups of people have made the city their destination. “To each, its own”, perfectly describes this modern mayhem that has been achieved today by trying to meet the diverse needs and aspirational patterns that are produced each day. These patterns that are forming have now over the years become static and that is reflected in the way the city is growing. But the imbalance in these patterns has also brought Mumbai to a point where today it is fighting with its natural surroundings to survive. - The city is drowning. Hence our vision is to find the right ratio of balance between the static and dynamic elements, through the lens of accessibility, density, and ecology. We imagine a situation where the Dadar exists in a ratio that best satisfies the needs of Mumbai by resolving difficulties in the city’s heart, such that the experiential character of Dadar does not change but is enhanced.
