The program looks at the potential of the existing informal settlements and the fishing community around Vasco as an opportunity for community engagement. A design a facility for repairing fishing crafts and custom made infrastructure allied to marine fishing in deep sea and cultivation in brackish waters, fish processing for making use of abandoned ships for a purpose of generating revenue is proposed . The facility consists of a dry-dock for repairing different sizes of vessels which then will be used for the appropriate purposes according to their size and age of the vessel. The repaired vessels would be used for fishing purposes by hiring unskilled labor from the fishing community. The fish taken to the processing facility is sorted, processed, cleaned and finally packed in a cold storage. The programmatic arrangement of the controlled environments are laid out on site with a potential to open up the facility for adapting fluctuating fishing stock and reuse the processing and packing facility for agro products during the monsoon.
