Computational design is an approach that operates through the facilities of logical and mathematical thinking. It needs a thought style based on well-defined steps, algorithms and parameters which necessitates a design development strategy, that is to be built in the initial phase of the design process. One of the latest methods of computational modeling technology is parametric modeling. The initial level of computational tools is used to understand formation of algorithms and developing complex geometries with the help of defined rules. After the rules are set geometrical/form optimization is applied according to the design parameters and the resultant is fabricated through additive or subtractive manufacturing techniques. The semester was divided into 3 modules. Each module explored a particular computational design concept. The modules in the studio enhanced the learning of logical thinking, algorithms, geometry systems, materials, human factors. Module 1:Exploring and studying computational design as a tool to solve design related issues of material, geometry, construction, form, ergonomics and structure. Module 2: Exploring implementations of computational design within the context of spatial interventions and digital fabrication techniques. Module 3:Developing a spatial system based on computational design tools as an approach to design
