The Altered Chaos

 The premise of my project comes from the seminar readings, The Ethics of Dust by Jorge Otero Pailos. It focuses on conserving the ‘chaos’ of an ‘unsavable’ element, i.e., a dead wall running parallel to the main facade. The intervention involves introducing a series of buttresses and tie beams that hold the wall firmly without changing its character. However, it alters the chaos of the existing element by adding staircases, and planes and taking the wall’s character of being deceptive by hiding the whole system of new elements behind it with the entire system snaking around the wall.
