THE SUBTERRA PAVILION: A Display Gallery

The display gallery is located near the Bandstand at Kamatibaug, Vadodara. The bandstand serves as a versatile pavilion, hosting diverse socio-cultural events, where the display gallery can prove to be effective space, given the overall context. The concept of the design draws inspiration from the expansion of a spring, which is strategically placed along the axis of the Bandstand. The design of the display gallery thoughtfully incorporates a continuous interplay of ramps and plinths below the ground level, facilitating a bidirectional journey between introverted and extroverted spatial experiences. Moreover, the structure of the pavilion also incorporates truss system, paying homage to the Bandstand.
