Breaking Banalities in Bamboo

The form of any product is in sync with it's material and use. The studio was based on taking a single material, here, solid bamboo, and exploring the various forms and techniques possible with it via 3 products. The Bamboo Bench is made using the splitting technique. Whereas the Rocking Toy uses heat bending and weaving of the material. The Sign Board introduces a another material, steel, to create a contrast. Both the Bench and Sign Board are made for a minizoo in Ahmedabad while the rocking toy as a replacement for traditional wooden rocking horses.
