The proposed project intends to benefit young couples who are studying and working in the city. The site lies in Ahmedabad's Vastrapur neighborhood, in close proximity to Vastrapur Lake and the Indian Institute of Management. Because the project is geared towards young couples, developing adaptive areas can aid in transitioning the unit into a different typology that can also be rented out. This has been accomplished by offering an open plan with minimal solid walls and mezzanine and basement / lower floor areas in each alternative unit, which act as studio spaces, converting the unit into a studio apartment type of contemporary living. The idea has the ability to reimagine couple life in the city by allowing individuals to come and live with their respective partners, forming a community with common shared activities and spaces, which could also be termed as ‘ Co-living.’
