The project aims to understand the aggregation pathways of a non-close-pack geometry through icosahedrons. The aggregations are generated by assigning rules of assembly to the base module. It incorporates the principles of mesh relaxation by using the low poly meshes created by aggregating the base module. The aggregations are then analyzed and optimized for structural stability, maximum shadow, ground coverage, volume and material utilization. For fabricating the aggregated forms, strip morphology, tensile fabric templating and 3D printing on pre-stretched fabric were experimented as techniques. The latter was analyzed for the combination of tensile and compressive members.
