Concrete, a material that has been a quiet cornerstone of the world, we see it everywhere we go, and as the world evolves, so do questions about concrete. Existing research and literature predominantly talking about concrete as a material in India focuses on Chandigarh as an entry point and how concrete acted as a modern material since then in the Indian context. This project focuses on what was concrete even before that? Does concrete's materiality have to be linked with just modernity? Where does the voice of concrete lie within all these controversies?
