Sanitation Centric River Management

This pilot project provides a sanitation centric urban river management framework, by analyzing existing river and sanitation related frameworks, and informed by assessment of city of Surat's sanitation sector through a semester long studio including several visits to the city for understanding on ground situation. The framework developed can be applied in any river in an urban area to identify and solve problems from a sanitation centric perspective. Applying the framework to Tapi in Surat, part of area-based solutions has been developed as a demonstration project.
