The esplanade of the Belagavi fort holds the fort, moat, its surrounding activities and users. It was birth place of the settlement. But today its history and culture lay forgotten, its surrounding having fallen prey to various insensitive activities even when it houses offices and religious centers.. The design re-looks at the moat and esplanade creating zones for various activities. A landscape that connects history and people through daily activities. The planting creates a balance between the ecological, transformative, informative, aesthetic and economical aspects of landscape and responds to the functioning of the zones rather than following a set typology.
