Jewel of Navi Mumbai holds 90 Acre of land amongst which 40 Acre is accommodated by the holding ponds and 50 Acre is covered by landscaped areas and vegetation. The site is well connected.Although the site has rich biodiversity values, the cons include its excess of accessible paved area, lack of buffer between Avifauna citing and public open space, lack of awareness to the neighboring area. The Vision of this project is to revive the site to its full potential by introducing the site as a city sponge and develop awareness amongst the users about the richness of the site. Objective of the design is to use the ease of accessibility of the site as a key element, allowing users to approach and connect to the site with a fresh perspective. The Vision of this project was to have maximum percolation by providing more green cover and creating a buffer between biodiversity zones and accessible programs. To achieve this vision, combinations of native species are used.
