The project demonstrates how the diminished floodplains of Mithi River can be transformed into a reconciling landscape; A resilient coexistence of nature and people to form spaces of public engagement with the river. It strategizes the ever-evolving, dynamic, naturalistic planting as a critical tool to ‘RESPOND’ to the flood risks for the city. They become porous, breathing pockets of knowledge and recreation. Thus, creating a living system of Responsiveness, Self-Regulation, and Regeneration. It aims at initiating a regenerative process that adapts itself. It transforms the floodplains from neglected backyards to active, ecological front yards of the city; An Urban Oasis.
