Jaipur known as Pink city is the enclosed by hills on north and east sides. Mansagar Lake situated in the northern part of Jaipur city lies between the tourist corridor connecting the historic town of Amber and the walled city of Jaipur. In the lake lies the marvelous Jalmahal - one the major tourist attractions. Jalmahal and Mansagar Lake forms the nuclei of tourism potential sites of Jaipur city. The Amer road along the Mansagar Lake is situated, is a major tourism strip of Jaipur city. Mansagar Lake provides a pleasant scenic walks and almost every tourist pass through this area. Mansagar serves as a link between the old Jaipur and the walled city of Jaipur. Hence making it a significant destination for tourists. The promenade is 900m long which aims to be a social-orientated, pocket place for the community to come together. The linear park will have places of retreat and invites intimate connections with nature at the water’s edge, complementing the active recreation spaces in the park. The main idea is to restore rich history and spectacular views to establish a multi-layered recreational and cultural destination and environmental habitat. The design also focuses on streetscape along with spectacular views, provide a new landmark and destination to bring the community to the waterfront. The vision is to create a hyper connective, multiple level linear social platform that responds to the unique and characteristics of the residents and the tourists.
