A TALE OF TRANSFORMATION THROUGH LANDSCAPE ARTISTARY-Serving as a source of comfort from the sultry desert climate of Rajasthan, Mount Abu, the state’s only hill station stands at a height
of 1722 meters above sea level and is embraced by lush green hills of the Aravalli range. Studded with a colorful mix of rustic
abodes of tribal communities and posh houses inclusive of British-style bungalows and royal holiday lodges, Mount Abu appears to
be no less than a wonder in this desert state. Covered in vast stretches of green forests, serene lakes, and effusive waterfalls, this
region allows you to revel amidst panoramic vistas, all year round.
Polo Ground is a popular recreational spot in Mount Abu, a hill station in the Sirohi district of Rajasthan. It is located in the center
of the city and attracts many sports lovers and tourists. But the current situation of the ground reflects how this urbanization is increasing and not allowing the open space to breathe. The
ground is currently used in an unorganized manner by the residents and tourists, which is converting the piece of land into fragmented
parts in terms of usage. How about in the next 10 years this maidan is encroached by the people for the sake of tourism. Will it be more functional? Maybe, but the city will lose its identity and history in some sense. The concept focuses on creating a city park to create sensible space for play, leisure, and connection to urban nature. The space serves as a walkable connection
and possesses an identity that thoroughly contributes to the user’s unique experience, and subtly echoes its history throughout the design.
The park promotes physical activity and encourages children and young people to meet in reality. The park has a strong identity and has become an important
place for social interaction between children, adolescents, and adults.
The landscape offers functionality to the spaces added with a punch of the context of hills, and naturalistic blurred planting design. The symphony of trees, shrubs
and flowers in this garden creates an atmosphere, that invites you to relax and linger, but also to celebrate the garden.
