IDL AND WHOLE BUILDING DESIGN (WBD)

The studio serves as a practical application of the theoretical principles that we have studied throughout the program, and it is a synthesis of knowledge from all semesters. Designed especially for Pune, a city with particular climate requirements, this studio prioritizes whole-building design. Through the incorporation of scientific concepts, energy modelling methodologies, and compliance with pertinent local building standards, we get a comprehensive comprehension of pragmatic strategies for augmenting energy efficiency within construction projects. With its emphasis on practical applications, the exercise provides us with insightful knowledge on how to tackle problems unique to the Pune setting. We gain expertise in negotiating the complexity of building design via project-based learning, to meet the practical needs of the sector.
