The Passive Comfort Lab is a great platform to explore building physics to optimize energy efficiency. It covers various topics such as climate and shading analysis, heat and moisture transfer, load calculations, and many more. The learning process involves measuring environmental factors and assessing human thermal comfort. In the course project, we apply these concepts to measure and evaluate thermal performance. The simulation module teaches building modeling and envelope-level simulations by integrating occupancy and equipment schedules. This hands-on project equips us to understand and enhance energy efficiency through practical application, measurement, and simulation in building design and optimization. This exciting and informative course provides valuable insights into building physics and energy efficiency.
