The Palimpsest of Kadarshah ni Naal, Surat

Observation of the Site reveals that the site is a Palimpsest. Beneath the layers of built form, there are traces, both physical and non-physical, of activites and artifacts that used to happen here. The idea is to abstract each trace, to use as a design element in the making of the new metro. Because Kadarshah ni Naal is generally seen as a non-place, a space between neighborhoods with no distinct identity of its own, using design elements from these traces is seen as a way of highlighting the identity of the place.
