Vanjaravaas faces a significant issue of thermal stress on streets and open spaces as residents spend most of their days time on street as its the immidiate interacting space. The heat on streets further leads to non-functioning of spaces and several health impacts due to heat. The design brief outlines a comprehensive solution aimed at addressing this problem, improving the quality of public space by shading them and making them more comfortable for use throughout the day. Here a shading structure is designed which would bring in enough light as well as keep the streets shaded throughout the day. The trellis would be such a structure which is designed keeping in mind the width of the street and the making of the structure would be such a simple method where the people of the community can engage themselves in making of the structure. The trellis would have creepers on it which would shade the trees as well as have fragrent flowers which would make the air underneath better to breathe. Shading streets will help residents to have better spillover space which could be used throughout the day for different purposes.
