The design process of this project was initiated by the decoding of the instrumental piece Cornfield Chase by Dorian Marko that helped conceptualise a deconstructed cube into a functional and experientially rich space that served the purpose of an exhibition as well as a performance space. The kinetic element is a flat roof which is centrally placed in the building and unfolds to form a pitched roof during performances in order to create a double volume vertically above the indoor amphitheatre , which enhances the echo effect and changes the quality of light entering the building. The spaces on either side of the amphitheatre serve as exhibition spaces. The open plan facilitates slow movement , allowing visitors to meander and thoroughly observe the displays.  The music piece has played a crucial role in the process of designing the project and interpretations from the piece are visible in the overall design as well as in the details.
