LEGACIES OF ANTIQUITY: UNVEILING ANCIENT CIVILISATIONS

With excavation sites and an ancient city within the ruins of the fort wall, this exhibition space is located on a hypothetical site of an ancient civilisation. It houses various objects, artefacts, fossils, bronze idols and prototypes of huge sculptures that had been excavated by the archeologists in the surrounding sites. The exhibition intends to give the visitors a general overview of all the different key historical phases that encompass the civilisation. It also highlights the civilisation’s tangible and intangible heritage and the interaction of the people with their land throughout history. Having cultural, educational and recreational importance, the exhibition centre is for literally anyone who wants to explore the wonders within the space, be it children, tourists, students, researchers, scholars, local community or science and history enthusiasts. The exhibition centre consists of a primary triple volume space and a secondary double volume space that showcase the exhibits. These two spaces flow into each other through the level differences created using the plinth. It has many spaces like the amphitheatre and the cafe that allow the people to engage in informal interactions.
