Performing Arts center to a Plural Civic Space

Premabhai hall is a stellar work by the modern master B.V. Doshi. However, it’s relevance today is being questioned so much so that its existence is in question. The beautiful purist structure served as a Performing art centre till the 90’s. The reason for choosing the building as my site was because of its location and its cultural significance. I saw it as a challenge to rejuvenate the Plaza alongside reviving the structure by amalgamating the context deep into the program and addressing the paradoxes that the site beholds
