THALTEJ : A residential Sub-Urban neighborhood

Thaltej, a suburban area emerged in western region of Ahmedabad. THALTEJ- Tiny village to super posh localities of Ahmedabad. Initially a village, dates back thousand years, was a Brahmin settlement, and the land abutting it was farmland. With the construction of S-G Highway the nearby area developed into commercial and residential neighborhood. The growth pattern in Thaltej occurred due to its location along the transit corridor. its connectivity to the city centre, availability of amenities services and its diverse housing made Thaltej a growing suburb. The contrasting character of the precinct with HIG gated communities and EWS section with their informal market showcase a varied trend in quality of life in the precinct.
