The settlement history of Sardarnagar is deeply rooted in the result of the India-Pakistan Partition. Sindhi and Sikh refugees found refuge here, with the area colloquially known as the "Sindhi Colony." Over time, the region has transitioned from a village into a dynamic urban centre, with a notable concentration of inhabitants in the southern part. The development along the northern riverfront, construction of tall buildings, and strategic infrastructure projects have transformed Sardarnagar into a bustling urban area. The primary economic activities revolve around the Sindhi Colony, with self-employment opportunities flourishing, reflecting the area's remarkable economic growth driven by local infrastructure development. This transformation highlights how infrastructure development can enhance real estate values and create self-sustaining livelihoods.
