Garden City

The studio explored the designing of a Greenfield township masterplan. It involved two exercises- 1. Studying & representing the identified masterplan example and 2.designing the township masterplan. Designing involved learning the key concepts and different layers of a large scale masterplan like design of streets, open space, built mass & details of urban block. The studio focused on preserving the ecology of the site. 'Garden City' proposes a township with easy access to ample open spaces and have a fair balance between built and greenary. The idea was to develop public open spaces along the existing natural features of site.
