Vajrahalli-Silk Institute Corridor - Potential Green TOD

Bangalore is a city that is developing without an updated Master Plan resulting into rapid haphazard development. Microlevel planning mechanisms become even more important for sub-urban and peri-urban peripheral areas of Bangalore. Vajrahalli-Silk Institute Corridor is one such case that comes under the TOD zone according to Bangalore TOD Policy. The existing KTCP Act 1961 mentions about provisions of microlevel planning tools in the act for both brownfield and greenfield areas, hence a LAP-TP hybrid mechanism has been tried for this area which has abundance of significant green-blues and is a very important upcoming transit corridor.
