Ranip located on the northern part of Ahmedabad city, is a cluster of commercial and residential zones. It also consist of a large slum named Bakra Mandi on the eastern part of it. Ranip is majorly a residential area dominated by semi detached houses followed by apartments and detached houses. The streets of Ranip act as major public realm spaces due to lack of designed public spaces in the area. Streets are the heart of Ranip catering all the major activities.
