Ahmedabad is one of the fastest-growing cities in India and this study delves into the dynamic development of a specific area within the city i.e., Iskcon cross road. Situated in the city's western region, alongside the Sarkhej Gandhinagar Highway, it has witnessed a remarkable transformation over the past two decades, evolving into a vibrant commercial, residential, and institutional hub. This study focuses on a comprehensive analysis of a one-square-kilometer expanse in the precinct. It aims to offer an in-depth overview of key facets of the precinct: initial observations, evolution, street network,  land utilization and built form, infrastructure, jobs, transportation and housing. Its primary focus is on deciphering the spatial development and its street network and aims at determining the factors that reflect the rapid urbanization and its impact on the property prices in the study area. 

Introduction to the precinct
The shift in the center of the city, establishment of ISRO, transition in land use zoning and emergence of Sarkhej-Gandhinagar Highway played a pivotal role in the development of the area.
The streets and networks of the precinct have a dynamic character as and play an important role in enhancing walkability, safety, connectivity, accessibility, and equity in the area.

The urban transformations have not only redefined the physical fabric of the precinct but have also amplified its significance as a dynamic and thriving hub.
The built environment has a significant effect on streets. Public interaction and urban experiences are influenced by the streetscape, which is shaped by building placement, storefront margins, and pedestrian prominence.
The discrepancies emerge, with high-end areas having a 24x7 water supply, cleaner streets, and better management practices, highlighting the need for more equitable access to essential services.
The informality of settlements is directly linked to informality in jobs and livelihood.
A substantial gap exists between formal and informal settlements.
Economic insecurity is intensified by vulnerabilities, creating a cycle that deepens the impact of poverty.
