The East of Ahmedabad is highly influenced by the industrial development in the 1960’s. Establishment of GIDC in Odhav, Vatva and Narol has impacted the character of this area. The influx of migrant laborers was one of the reasons for the existence of Rabari Colony. This area is well connected with the Narol-Naroda highway and has an efficient network of public transportation through a BRTS corridor and the Metro. These have played a major role in the accessibility of the place. However, the built form seems to have stagnated in recent years.
